My Life in Golf
I picked up the golf club when i was around 14. As i got older work and the fairer sex were the priority and i decided that golf should wait. My life circumstances changed and at the age of 36 i started playing golf again, in a society and then the bug hit! After only a few months i had a handicap of five and as i practiced and my putting got better and I lowered it to 0.6.
My day was one that allowed me to retire early and i wanted something that would keep me active and involved in golf. Practice and then the ideas of becoming a golf coach were achievable. Support was the key, thanks to my darling wife Yvonne.

The Art of Putting
I decided to specialise in the art of putting. I approached the aims in a number of ways. Soaking up what other people had learned and what their fundamentals were. I looked at Harold Swash, Paul Hurrion and Dave Pelz, there were others but these three were the names who made the influence that now has established my own beliefs and fundamentals. So, thank you to them all.
I achieved level two of the Swash Putting accreditation and then my learning allowed me to experiment and work with some great players, those that had been there and done it – Phil Archer and Jose Manuel Lara and several others.
Younger players followed and i noticed that my style of coaching is long term, not a short term fix, it has to be or the feel will not develop and the player would be thinking of technique all the time.

Putting Coach in Spain

I am a resident of Spain, in the Murcia area, originally from the Birmingham area of the United Kingdom. I decided to move here as the weather is right, the golf courses and resorts are fantastic and the access to the rest of Europe if excellent.
I have my putting studio situated on the golf resort called El Valle in Murcia and i work in partnership with many resorts here.

Glenn BillingtonGolf Instruction available to all

I will help anybody who is serious about improving their golf, in particular their putting. I help many players on all the professional tours, from the Satellite tours to the main European tour and the senior tours. There are players from Europe, plus players from the United States.
I work with many younger players, aspiring players, amateurs and professionals, i feel that guiding them towards their goal is a desire i have.
Every player can improve their game if they concentrate on improving their putting. A twenty eight handicap player can probably be five shots better? New players should work hard on their putting and then build up to the full swing, keep it simple and get the feel you need!

My fundamentals and beliefs

It is so important that the clubface impacts with the ball in a ‘square on’ position to the target! The putting stroke needs to be a repeatable action and i feel that this should be done in a natural and instinctive way. Therefore, the set up is the pivot of the putting stroke. If we are square to the target line and the geometry of our aim is correct then we will be able to make that perfect stroke and allow the ball to head towards the target on the correct line. All in all, the ‘set up’ is important to making a great putting stroke!

Reaching your long term golfing desires through team work

Glenn BillingtonSo many players say to me ‘i am a feel player’. But what are they feeling, what are the areas where they feel? We have to work as a team, there are no other options. We work together and we build trust and understanding in what we both need to do to make the putting stroke instinctive, individual and effective. The more we understand the technical side then the more we understand where we feel. Then, the more we become a ‘feel player’. What are our bio-mechanics like and how to attain the repeatable set up.
